Peace
Peace is not found
In the war-torn
In the arguments.
in the pain.
It is not found
in those who are certain
they are right
or in those who dominate
and seek control.
Peace is not found in
over-stimulation
over-indulgence
or hoarding treasures.
Peace is found
deep in the heart
a trust in the mystery
of life itself
of the Giver of life.
Peace is unexplainable
Unfathomable,
Beyond human understanding.
It is not dependent
on outer circumstance,
status, wealth or happiness.
Peace is a Person.
A person who offers us the gift
of peace.
For now,
For forever.
Thank you, Jesus
You bring us peace.
You are our peace.
