Hope is birthed in the dark

My word for the year is hope.

Really, it is my life’s word, and it is reflected in many if the things I’ve published such as my book “A Journey of Hope” to my Instagram tag @journeyofhopefaithandlove.

I’m experiencing hope in a new way though as we walk through 2023. I’ve written that I’m in a time of transition, uncertain about what my future will look like. Oh, I have ideas, but I need them to be reflected on, prayed about.

And in many ways, as the unknown can be, it is a time of searching, and even feeling unsettled.

Sometimes I feel I’m in the dark, waiting for the light to reveal what’s next.

As I doodled this page, it became very self reflective. I don’t think it means I’m getting a dog though. 😊

But there is movement, and purpose. Even in the dark.

Sometimes growth happens when we can’t see it at all. Growth is not stagnant.

You think of the seed, full of life, cocooned in the dark, waiting for the appointed time. Indeed the caterpillar does the same… before the emergence of new life and beauty.

So we hang on to hope, even in the dark. We wait with hope.

“I wait for the LORD, my whole being waits, and in his word I put my hope.” Psalm 130: 5
