Last night in the wee hours of the morning, I heard noises from my back yard. We couldn’t see anything and tried to go back to sleep.
But the noises persisted, and I finally saw a large creature on the railing of my deck – a raccoon! My hubby tried to scare it, and he scurried off the deck, right into my grape vine! My grapes have struggled this year, and now I know why…. we watched him, and then another, somehow climbing around the vines, probably having a late night feast.
Late night entertainment for sure, but disturbing our sleep!
Last evening I stood in our yard, watering the parched flowers, mesmerised by the sky. My sunflowers were dancing in the breeze, and the red streaked sky just before dark was a beautiful sight. I didn’t have my phone to capture it, but sometimes those moments are sacred. You live in them, thankful for the Creator who paints awesome skies and creates so much for us to enjoy.
So here are a few photos I took this past week, the week of August 11-16.
