I am waking up to a day washed with rain, passed now with cloudy skies, less smoke. It is a relief.
While we were never in danger, our hearts have been moved, our prayers fervent for so many around us affected by forest fire. I am again amazed by the generous community spirit, people helping people; by the bravery of firefighters.
The smoke has been hard, maybe more for some who are vulnerable. I felt my own mental health struggling with the greyness of days, the difficulty to exercise and being confined to indoors. My sinuses have complained, loudly!
And yet, this is minor compared to the suffering of so many. And life goes on. The flowers continued to bloom. I needed to find creative solutions to use up my zucchini, and made our favourite relish. My granola jar was empty, so I took care of that too. There is always work to do!
God provides. People helping people. Beauty for ashes. Abundant food.
So here are some pictures from this past week, August 17-23. And if you want a good granola recipe, just let me know!
