It’s a rare occasion, Valentines Day and Ash Wednesday in the same day.  It is a day to celebrate love, and friendship.  And it is a day to ponder what it means to empty myself, and embark on a season of lent.
Lent has become increasingly meaningful to me in the “second half” of my life, the rhythms of the year inviting me to enter into a reflective journey, as I also think about Christ’s journey to the cross.
And really, that pouring out was the greatest act of love.
I took time this week to draw a labyrinth, a finger labyrinth if you will, where I reflected on what I might learn and think about in these weeks leading up to Easter.  It can be used as a prayer exercise, with words of reflection for the journey.
I am thankful for the gift of love, and want to express that to my dear family and friends.  It is good to celebrate with and be grateful for my husband, as I also am mindful of those who are lonely.
I am thankful for the gift of Gods love, beyond measure,

Labyrinth
